What to Expect From Your Ultherapy PRIME® Treatment
Before treatment
Since the non-invasive treatment is truly personalised with Ultherapy PRIME®, it’s best to schedule a consultation, during which your practitioner will assess your skin, address your concerns, and will define an optimal treatment plan based on your own specific needs.1-3
During Treatment
After cleansing the skin and identifying the areas to be treated, your Ultherapy® practitioner will apply ultrasound gel and place a smooth treatment applicator against your skin.
Your practitioner will then use Ultherapy PRIME® unique real-time imaging to assess your skin to precisely deliver energy in your collagen-rich layers.1, 9, 10
During treatment, you may feel the sensation of heat and/or tingling while the energy is being delivered, indicating that the collagen-building process has been initiated. Comfort levels can vary from person to person, as does length of treatment, per individual treatment plan. Ask your practitioner about your customised plan.
After Treatment
Non-invasive Ultherapy PRIME® is a safe and effective treatment for all skin tones. There is minimal downtime, so you can resume your normal activities immediately after the treatment, following the instructions of your practitioner.
Your skin might appear flushed at first, but the redness should disappear within a few hours. Some patients experience slight swelling, tingling, or tenderness to the touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature. Your practitioner will be able to inform you about other less common post-procedural effects as needed.

Ultherapy PRIME® is a skin-tightening and lifting device with real-time visualisation. This enables the practitioner to assess your skin before treatment and precisely deliver energy where you need it the most. Through this technology, the treatment can be personalised to your unique needs, resulting in a more effective treatment.1-3, 6, 8-10
Are there any side effects?
There may be slight redness that typically resolves within a few hours following the treatment. Some patients may experience mild swelling, tingling, tenderness to the touch, or minor welting, which are generally temporary in nature.
In some cases, mild bruising may occur due to minor disruption of small blood vessels in the treated area. Welting or localised swelling can appear as linear marks and typically resolves within about a week, while bruising usually fades within a few days to up to two weeks.
These effects are generally mild and temporary, and individual experiences may vary.1
Will I need to take time off?
No. With non-invasive Ultherapy PRIME®, there is minimal downtime. After your treatment, you can resume your normal activities immediately, following the instructions of your practitioner.1, 6
How long does it last?
Most Ultherapy PRIME® patients see meaningful results after just one session. Since your treatment stimulates your body’s own collagen production, the results may vary. You may see some initial lift, but the ultimate results will take place over two to three months as the growth of new collagen and elastin develops. A single Ultherapy PRIME® treatment can give a lasting results that can last up to a year*. Your practitioner will advise on the likely outcomes for you.1-10

What does the Ultherapy PRIME® treatment feel like?
As ultrasound energy is delivered, you may feel the sensation of heat and/or tingling, indicating that the collagen-building process has been initiated. Treatment comfort levels vary from person to person, and your practitioner will discuss your personalised treatment plan with you.
Who is a good candidate for Ultherapy PRIME®?
A good candidate for Ultherapy PRIME® is someone with some degree of laxity, to the point of looking, often feeling, less firm. Loose skin under the neck and under the chin, or lines and wrinkles on the chest, are signals a patient might be a candidate. Typically, those in their 30s who have mild to moderate skin laxity are candidates. While Ultherapy PRIME® is not a replacement for a surgical facelift, there are many people who may want some facial lifting but are not ready for surgery, whether mentally, physically, or financially. There are also younger people who want to “stay ahead of the game,” as well as patients wanting an aesthetic maintenance option.

The ULTHERA® System is intended to apply focused ultrasound energy to the body to achieve temporary changes in the physical appearance of the skin. The ULTHERA® System is indicated for use as a non-invasive dermatological aesthetic treatment to: lift the eyebrow; lift lax submental (beneath the chin) and neck tissue, which can also affect the appearance of lax tissue in the submental and neck regions; and improve lines and wrinkles of the décolleté.
